Data Center Common Core

Follow one data center from the owner’s requirements to commissioning and handover. Learn how the building, power, cooling and delivery decisions connect through one continuing teaching campus.

Owner requirements and the project brief

Start with what the facility must deliver. Connect the owner’s requirements to site decisions, the basis of design and the information needed by the delivery team.

Systems and coordination

Trace electricity from source to rack, and heat from chip to environment. See how electrical, cooling, architectural and structural decisions meet in the model and coordinated information.

Construction and installation

Follow the campus into procurement, construction planning and installation. Study how design intent becomes installed systems and evidence for the next delivery stage.

Commissioning and handover

Connect commissioning activities, system checks and turnover evidence to the owner’s original requirements and the team taking the facility into operation.

One campus, across disciplines

DC101 Common Core is being developed for architecture, engineering, BIM/VDC, construction and commissioning learners. The original synthetic campus is a teaching model, not construction or operating guidance.

The course is in development. Joining the interest list is not enrollment or access, and does not reserve a place. No launch date, price or certification is being announced.
